Gas Mixing Applications

Hydrogen in Natural Gas Research

Hydrogen in Natural Gas Research

In recent years, there has been a world-wide push to include some level of Hydrogen gas within municipal natural gas distribution lines, primarily for the purpose of reducing CO2 emissions, but also to transport Hydrogen gas from one region to another. With research in this field growing rapidly, Fusion Flow Technologies instruments have been at the forefront of the so-called ‘Green Hydrogen’ initiative. An MXM gas mixing system configured for a 5-30% H2/CH4 blend range, is an ideal partner in any Green Hydrogen/Methane laboratory, whether for consumer products evaluation, real-world energy density evaluation, or metallurgical compatibility testing. Since the Fusion Flow Technologies gas control system has many modes of operation, researchers could demand their mixture to be delivered at a constant mass flow rate regardless of pressure, a constant mass flow with pressure boundaries, or even at a constant pressure, regardless of flow rate. This makes the MXM an indispensable tool in the laboratory, especially when there are multiple testing regimes.
